The African Online Digital Library (AODL) is a portal website that links to a number of multimedia collections about Africa. In conjunction with the MSU African Studies Center, MATRIX is partnering with universities, institutions, and individual scholars to build a series of digital archives and libraries that present information about various topics relating to the study of Africa. Although these collections are varied in terms of subject matter, they follow a consistent formatting and structure in order to allow for easy browsing between collections. Similarly, the archives all involve multimedia presentations of information and focus on telling alternative narratives about contemporary Africa. Some of the largest collections include the Africa Past & Present podcast, the Diversity and Tolerance project, and Pluralism and Adaptation in the Islamic Practice of Senegal and Ghana.
